Ibex Hunting in Asia — The Wild Soul of the High Country

For those who live for high altitude adventure, the Ibex is the ultimate experience of mountain hunting.
From the snow-capped peaks of the Karakoram to the sunburnt cliffs of Sindh, Ridgewalker Expeditions offers access to the finest ibex hunts across Central Asia.

This is quintessential mountain hunting: glassing for hours, planning the perfect approach, and finally, the challenge of the shot of a lifetime amongst the wind as you steady your rifle above the clouds.

The Subspecies of the Ibex

Himalayan Ibex (Capra ibex sibirica)

Found across northern Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, the Himalayan Ibex is one of the most iconic mountain trophies.
With horns often exceeding 50 inches, these animals inhabit the same towering ridges as snow leopards and golden eagles.
The experience is physically demanding, with long climbs, frigid winds, and views that stop the heart.

Sindh Ibex (Capra aegagrus blythi)

The Sindh Ibex lives in Pakistan’s dry southern mountains, particularly the Kirthar range.
They are smaller-bodied but strikingly beautiful, with tight, scimitar-shaped horns and pale coats that blend with sandstone cliffs.

The Experience

Each ibex hunt with Ridgewalker is a full expedition.
You’ll climb before dawn, glass from exposed ridges, and crawl the last few meters across shale and ice.
At this altitude, every breath feels earned — and every shot is a moment that lives forever.

Our camps are comfortable but simple, placed in true wilderness.
Helicopter access, professional logistics, and local mountain teams ensure safety and success without compromising authenticity.
